SMART is a mental health charity that promotes mental health and helps people recover from serious and complex mental illness through purposeful activity.

We employ and train people in our social enterprises and work with their health and social care teams to create holistic recovery plans.

Through our programme of activities and outreach work we help people connect with their wider community, gain accredited qualifications, secure competitive employment, promote emotional resilience and provide Matrix-accredited information, advice and guidance.

“The Sheds”, 3 hectares of land with buildings in the South Downs National Park .

Our aim is to restore the habitat, creating a space where people can work, connect with nature and each other in-line with our wider work to promote mental health and recovery from mental illness.

We are beginning a year of co-production to engage with local people to build something they will use and find helpful.

In addition to visiting local groups, schools and connecting with communities, particularly marginalised ones, we are offering this Open call to Sussex based artitsts.
