Peter is an international, award-winning, mixed media artist who uses both digital and conventional methods to create his art, including mobile photography (iPhone and iPad), acrylics, cyanotypes and gilding. His work has been displayed at galleries throughout Europe, including Le Petite Galerie in Paris, the MIRA Gallery in Porto & the Bartoli Felter gallery in Cagliari.

Peter’s art is strongly influenced by his experiences & insights gained during a lengthy career as a psychiatric nurse & psychotherapist, enabling him to bring mood and emotions into his work.

Each of his digital paintings begins life as a photograph or a collection of photographs that somehow relate to his chosen subject matter: a starting point for him to build his image with layers of digital paint.

Whilst each individual artwork provides a visual narrative of the subject matter, he is aware that the ‘story’ wrapped inside his image may not be the one that the viewer sees.

“They need to find something personal; something to connect with”, he explains. “Certain colours or shapes, perhaps, a piece of truth or the discovery of something beautiful … or maybe a special memory is rekindled. Only then might it touch them deeply enough to want it in their home.”
