Jim Souper West Yorkshire, United Kingdom
My photography is informed and inspired by my love of the natural landscape and by my interest in landscape history. I like to make images which convey mood and emotion, or which reveal something about our human relationship to the landscape.
Working predominantly in black and white, I try to be mindful and contemplative in my approach to photography. I work, for the most part, with digital imagery and for much of my woodland photography use infrared.
I am based in West Yorkshire and am a studio holder at the Art House in Wakefield. I studied for a degree in Contemporary Photographic Arts at Batley School of Art and Design, graduating in 2009. I am an Associate of the Royal Photographic Society and certified as Climate Aware Photographer by the Carbon Literacy Project.
