This exhibition will showcase artwork relating to the healing effect of being within nature, and relationships with natural environments from female/non-binary perspectives.

English scholar Robert Burton ‘believed the best remedy for melancholy was a change in one's environment; he recommended travelling, varied landscapes and an overlook of the horizon...

Burton's prescriptions recommend that patients head for the shore, believing that the shock of submersion in cold, salty and turbulent seawater was beneficial for health.’

We are accepting applications of all visual styles and mediums: sculpture, text, painting, photography, textiles, sound, and video.

All applicants must be UK-based and be female/non-binary identifying.

This exhibition will be held at Electro Studios, St Leonards-on-Sea, between the 22nd & 26th January 2025.

Please note that all selected artists must be able to drop off their work at Electro Studios, Seaside Rd, St Leonards-on-sea TN38 0AL, before 11:30 am on Tuesday 21st January 2025 and pick up their work from Electro Studios either after 5 pm on Sunday 26th January 2024 or on Monday 27th January 2024.

All selected artists are asked for a £20 contribution fee to the running costs of the exhibition.

It also goes towards Fresh Salad being able to present more projects and artist call outs in the future. If you are unable to give this at this time, we encourage you to still apply and let us know.

On this occasion we will not be explicitly be selling the artwork at the exhibition.

But if visitors are interested in work we will put them in contact with the artists through either your social media or email.

Thank you, and we look forward to seeing all the artwork and applications for this show!
