Call out for artist-mothers.

NURTURE focuses on showing the works of mothers who have yet to have the opportunity to display work due to their caregiving duties.

The exhibition is open to artists whose work isn’t necessarily related to issues surrounding motherhood/caregiving and is just an opportunity to give artist-mothers a space to display their work.

The exhibition will sit alongside another exhibition featuring a collaborative artwork entitled ‘The Feeding Chair’ commissioned by researcher Elaine Speight.

The Feeding Chair includes resources built into it to make the feeding experience more comfortable and accessible in public spaces.

It also acts as an information resource for caregivers, including interviews and talks.

Submission terms:

We welcome all submissions and women artists, trans, non-binary artists and genderqueer artists in any stage of their career are encouraged to submit to this exhibition.

Eligibility:

  • The exhibition is open to artists all over the UK but this exhibition might be suitable for artists local to the North East region.

  • We accept works from these visual art forms: painting, drawing, print, sculpture, ceramics, photography, video, film, comics, design, and textiles.

  • Unfortunately, we have a very limited budget when it comes to assisting with postage and packaging when returning work, and we do not offer P&P reimbursement.

  • Artists may only submit up to two pieces of work.
