An opportunity for all budding young artists (4yrs to 16yrs) to have their work exhibited in a gallery .

The exhibition is titled BEING HOCKNEY.

When David Hockney's name is mentioned, the first image that comes to mind is usually one of his colourful landscapes. However I would like you to look further into what he has produced over the years, such as portraits, still life, vases of flowers etc

I am an artist living and working from my studio in Bradford, West Yorkshire. For many years, as well as producing my own artwork, I have been focusing on promoting the artwork of children and young people, both locally and around the world.

To coincide with Bradford City of Culture 2025, I am curating an exhibition in July at the Trapezium Art Gallery, Kirkgate, Bradford.

The Trapezium Gallery, in the centre of Bradford, went through some difficult times but, like a phoenix, has risen from the ashes in its new location, only two doors away from the previous gallery.

Thanks to the dedication and hard work of it`s volunteers, the gallery is now ready to display artist`s work with a variety of wonderful exhibitions.

I am very excited to have secured the July slot(7th-12th ) and hope schools, community centres and individuals will help me celebrate the wonderful young artists we have amongst our city and beyond. 

Important: Submissions must be made via an adult and are open to anyone age 4yrs-16yrs.

Exhibition criteria/ options

One: A1 collaborative canvas

A4 - 16 canvases of one topic

Individuals: One A3 or A2 canvas
