GRAFT are seeking artists for our first project in Lancaster.

Are you an artist who:

 - Lives and works in the North?

 - Feels like the WORK that goes into your work is important?

 - Are interested in showing your making as well as showing a piece?

 - Want to connect with wider audiences through discussion and workshop events?

This project will be a pop-up exhibition in an empty shop in Lancaster city centre, representing the huge amount of artistic work that exists in the North of England. We want to hear from you if you’re really into making, whatever your discipline or media, as long as it’s made with BLOOD, SWEAT and TEARS.

Part of the project will be the launch of a learning and engagement programme, involving a series of talks, discussion events and workshops for a variety of ages. We want to enable artists to engage with their audiences, opening up the conversation between makers and visitors.

This opportunity offers a stipend of £300 subject to funding, materials for workshops or events will be covered, and we will offer accommodation where we can.

Potential dates are 03/05/18 - 13/05/18. Artists will be need to be available for install, to speak at a discussion event and/or to deliver a workshop (specific dates tbc).

TO APPLY:

 - Send us documentation that shows a work and it’s making process. This isn’t limited: it could be anything from images and/or writing to film. Whatever you can think of: all bets are off…

 - Links to website, videos, social media accounts or online portfolios

 - Please also send a brief outline of how you would like to be involved in the learning and engagement programme, whether this might be a performance, discussion, public presentation, workshop or screening event. Please mention any relevant previous experience.
