    As the lead artist of AidenMay, I've been creating art since childhood, nurturing a lifelong passion that has evolved into a profound interest in design, photography, and an anthropological approach to surrealism, portraiture, and landscapes. My inspiration stems from Victorian, vintage, and Gothic eras, as well as 17th Century Dutch Masters and J M W Turner.

    I live and work in Dorset. My practice revolves around making with materials that are intrinsic to my everyday life. and short video works. The act of making is devotional and mostly at odds with the banality of the material which can be anything from old, shredded bills to empty tea bags. The images are absurd and playful and have a performative aspect.

    After an initial career as a Systems Analyst, I studied Visual Arts (Salford University), 2004, then an M.A. in Textiles/Fashion (Manchester Metropolitan University) 2005. My studio is at Rogue Artists’ Studios CIC, Manchester. I am a member of the artist collective , A Small Space. My project ‘We View Things Differently Now' was ACE DYCP funded in 2021.     I am a printmaker exploring our relationship with landscape and the ways we form emotional attachments to place. I work across multiple printmaking techniques, allowing processes to inform and expand one another, generating a diverse visual language. Alongside editioned prints, I create large-scale, site-responsive collaged 2D and 3D works that incorporate stitch as well as print.

    Having been an artist since I was little, I practised properly as a professional artist since 2020. I studied at Dumfries and Galloway college doing Art and Design at HND level I went on to study at home on self portraits, I practise daily my technique and my love for the female form. I was a model between 16-25 years old, and have the same outlook that the female body is beautiful.
