Call for artworks for the group exhibition: Baggage Claim.

Baggage Claim is an exhibition examining the tools and burdens we carry with us. A sculptural display of works will present an assortment of responses: from self-defense to coping mechanisms, compulsions or avoidances, self-medication, mantras, armour and antidotes. The works on display will be vessels or vehicles for dealing with or undertaking the journey of life.

We are looking for submission of existing or new works that will respond to the themes outlined above. All works need to fit within the listed size categories. We welcome submissions of work in all media that can be displayed in a sculptural context. All works will be displayed on a plinth so we are predominantly looking for works that can exist as an object. We are open to making special considerations to host relevant works within the plinth.

Be sure to include up to 3 images of your work (or proposed work) alongside a brief explanation of how the piece relates to the exhibition construct. There is no fee to apply and we aim to come back to each applicant with personalised feedback.

Baggage Claim is curated by Georgia Stephenson and Rosalind Wilson. Georgia is an art director, independent curator and co-founder of Collective Ending HQ in Deptford, London. Rosalind is an artist, educator and co-founder of Crit Club.

Baggage Claim will be hosted by Staffordshire St in London in February 2023. The deadline is 31st December 2022.
