BobCat Gallery has taken over a retail unit in Putney Exchange Shopping Centre, SW15. I’m delighted to offer new artists the chance to display and sell their work for up to a month at a time - offering a changing selection of contemporary art each month.

How does it work?

Each artist will pay a subsided fee to display their work for up to a month, with 10-20 pieces per artist included.

There is a commission of 20% on all sales.

Please note that curation and sales will be undertaken by myself and my selection is final.

All work for display will be pre-selected so that I know exactly what’s in the inventory and can best present your collection to my customers.

Your work may not be displayed altogether, and displays are likely to change throughout the month as works are sold.

There is no requirement to be present on site for stewarding, etc.; however, I will arrange ‘meet the artist’ events each month, which you are, of course, welcome to attend and invite guests to.

All promotions and PR are included in the participation fee, as are refreshments at our monthly events.

Smaller works, e.g. those under 50cm x 50cm and under £500, may also be made available for sale online via the BobCat Gallery website while your work is on display in store.

I will personally select works for online sale, and my selection is final.

There is no additional cost to sell via the website, and shipping costs will be added to the price of work available online.

Applications will be considered on a rolling basis. The selection of artists will change each month.

However, artists are absolutely welcome to register their interest for future months if they have previously exhibited; a waiting list will be operated, and you will be contacted if and when another spot opens up.

Please note that acceptance is not guaranteed. I have to balance commercial interest with representing a diverse range of artists and art forms. No correspondence will be entered into if you are not selected.

Will this opportunity suit you?

You are welcome to submit paintings, drawings and other original works on paper, (e.g. screenprints and cyanotypes), sculpture, glass and ceramics, mixed media works, textiles and limited edition photography.

Reproduction prints, e.g. giclée, digital artworks and open edition photography prints, are not accepted.

Each artist can submit up to 20 artworks for selection, including:

  • Ready to hang wall based works, either framed or unframed, preferably strung with D- rings. Please note mirror plates are not accepted. All work must be labelled on the reverse.
  • Unframed, mounted pieces for a browser (must be wrapped in cellophane and clearly labelled with your name, title and price).
  • Free-standing 3D works, e.g. sculpture or ceramics. If a plinth is required, the artist will need to supply this for now. Please advise if works can be displayed on a table or shelf so I can plan accordingly.

Please note that BobCat Gallery is focused on affordable art, and therefore I request that works are priced £2,000 and under.

Please be aware of the presentation of your work.

Any items which I deem not to be a suitable standard for sale will be rejected at hand-in.

Terms and Conditions:

1. There is a non-refundable participation fee of £100.00 per artist per month, payable in advance to BobCat Gallery. Once payment has been processed, artists agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.

2. There will be a commission of 20% on all sales; please ensure that your retail price includes this commission. Payment to the Artist shall be made by the Gallery within 30 days of sale(s) being finalised, and a full statement will be issued for all sales.

3. Where a customer opts to pay in instalments over three months, works will be held in trust by BobCat Gallery until final payment is received and the work delivered to the client. If for any reason a customer defaults on their payments, the work will be returned to the artist.

4. The Artist is responsible for arranging transportation for their artwork(s) to the venue, and collecting unsold artwork(s) from the venue once their display period comes to an end.

Charges for transportation, insurance costs, and risk of loss or damage incurred in the delivery of artwork(s) to and collection from the venue are the responsibility of the Artist.

5. BobCat Gallery shall be responsible for the safekeeping of all consigned artworks while they are in its custody, and will provide full Public and Products Liability insurance as well as coverage in case of theft or damage to artworks.

The Gallery shall provide the artist with all relevant information about its insurance coverage if the Artist requests this information. Each artist is also advised to arrange their own insurance cover commensurate to the value of their work.

6. High quality images must be submitted for each artwork, as we may use these in online sales and both print and digital promotion. Please also ensure you rename your image files with full captions for all works: Artist Name_Title_Medium_Size_Price.

7. Works will be exclusively for sale via BobCat Gallery during the month you have booked for. Please ensure that any additional online listings are removed during this time. In the event that a work is accidentally sold elsewhere while on display, the artist is liable for commission to BobCat Gallery.
