    I am a visual artist, illustrator and urban sketcher living and working in Yorkshire, UK. My work deals primarily with the landscapes and built environments in the North of England: I seek to capture the atmosphere and 'feel' of these places in a way that goes beyond description, capturing their essence and creating emotional resonance with the viewer. My preferred medium is watercolour and ink.

    Having been a painter for many years, having had many different occupations and once being a gallery owner I try to capture the uncertainty of life in my paintings. Predominantly an oil painter I always strive to find the subtle or obscure aspect of an image, searching for its individuality.

    Born in Lancashire, painting and drawing since a young child, I gained a degree in graphic design and pursued a career in design for over 25 years, whilst continuing to paint. Painting is my passion and my purpose. Now concentrating fully on painting professionally.     I am a rural Alberta artist whose practice combines dermestid beetle cleaning with intricate beadwork and painted designs on wildlife skulls. Each piece begins as a natural process, with beetles preparing the bone, and evolves into a work of art through hundreds of hours of hand-placed beads. My work explores cycles of life, death, memory, and renewal, transforming skulls into contemporary objects
