    An artist and psychologist, I explore the human experience from my academic activities. I illustrate psychological phenomena, theories and concept in light of the current social context and of our future. As a result, my visual language presents itself in iconic, timeless and geometric forms. Science and art converge into a visual artform of heightened aesthetic sense and vivid compositions.

    My paintings develop from sketches and photographs taken on location, blending imagination and inspiration from architecture, archaeology, and man-made structures. From my studio space at Arnup Studios in York, I create, teach and exhibit my art, sharing my collections, prints and cards.     Since completing my Photography MA (Falmouth) in autumn 2019, I have been establishing myself as a visual artist with photography at the core of my work. I primarily create intricate, digitally painted composites, as a method of contemporary nostalgic storytelling, I also make embroidered collages.

    I am a photographer from a Fine Art background. My career has been in Advertising producing work for Ad Agencies and design companies. However throughout that time I have always balanced the commissioned work with my own personal practice which ranges from Landscape, Industrial and still life work. I am now retired from the commercial arena so I can now concentrate on my personal work.

    Sarah McAlister graduated with MA Textiles from The University for the Creative Arts in 2024 and focuses her practice on re-using found materials. Her work is made in response to places and events she has experienced. Her ethos as a textile artist is to recycle, re-use and re-purpose existing resources meaning that her pieces are made entirely from found objects and fabrics.

    Sophia Rosenthal was shortlisted for the Contemporary British Painting Prize 2024, and won The Judith Tucker Memorial Prize selected by Lubaina Himid, Griselda Pollock and Harriet Tarlo. Graduating with a Distinction in MA Fine Art at City & Guilds of London Art School, Sophia subsequently won the Standpoint Artist Residency Prize 2024 which culminated in a solo show, 'Golden Hour' 2025.
