    Working with a range of materials I develop surfaces through sensory expressions, that evolve into landscapes, rivers,seas and oceans.     I am a printmaker and artist and I work from my attic studio in West Yorkshire. My prints are influenced by my love of being immersed in nature and my belief that everyone has a right to be wrapped in the natural world. They are also influenced by my love of arts that explore folklores, especially those relating to the changing seasons.

    Im a graphic designer by trade, having spent many years working in print, advertising and display. I trained in Graphic Design at the Kacob Kramer School in the late 70s. I set up Jagger Studio to promote my Lino prints. I am based in Guiseley, Leeds and currently creating lino print images.

    I have returned to working as an artist after a long career as a Mental Health Nurse and have rediscovered the joy that creating art can bring. I work primarily with printmaking, working from a group studio in the Rossendale Valley in Lancashire. My surroundings, amongst the valleys on the edges of the Pennines, inspire my use of foraged, natural materials in my work.

    Michala Gyetvai is more than a virtuoso technician; she is first and foremost a visionary whose work belongs to a very British Romantic landscape tradition. Her intimate contact with landscape revealed in her childhood recollections is still the driving force behind her work. She is essentially a fine artist who paints and sculpts with threads, stitching and layering her textural images.
