    I am a mainly self taught painter, working in oils, acrylic and gouache. I have worked as a doctor since 2003. I started to paint as a way to relax and escape from the stress of working in critical care during the pandemic. Now I paint for the joy of learning and creating.

    I'm a sculptor, writer and art historian (leeds university (jt hons) art history / english literature). I seek to make art at its most potent through re-interpreting and juxtaposing my raw materials - driftwood and unloved / unwanted furniture, occasionally with a surreal yet tangible functional edge. The metaphor between my work and humanity and how we are shaped by our environment is stark.

    I am a multi-disciplinary artist based in Lancashire, U.K, conducting practice based research as part of my Fine Art MA. I work with cyanotype as well as other print-making methods. My work features archetypal symbolism and is heavily based around the teachings of C.G Jung. I also work in the fashion industry and I am currently exploring opportunities which form bridges between the two worlds.

Living in the coastal landscape, I am interested in critiquing contemporary coastal politics, and the ways in which coastal cultures are perceived by outsiders, and through this, extends into politics more widely.

    Winner of art battle Manchester Dec 2018 and a long standing student of Artworks art school on Halifax. I have my own studio at home where I work. I have had an exhibition Hebden Bridge which launched my art business. I show work locally in Halifax and have commissions on the go most of the time.     Stevie Nicholson is a Scottish based painter from Clydebank who graduated with a BA (HON) Degree in Contemporary Art Practice. His current working process has him pushing the boundaries of portraiture and figurative. Stevie’s work delves into the experimentation of texture and mark making techniques which lead him to develop his work into a contemporary context that is unique and full of energy.
