    I am an artist and academic working with sculpture, writing, print and installation. I deploy languages associated with youth culture to create pieces with a skewed-cartoonesque-cuteness. My practice and research focus on the tension between cuteness and violence as a way to probe the contradictions in contemporary consumer culture.

    I am a teacher of Geography and until a few years ago I never thought I had a creative bone in my body. I then discovered wood turning and the joy of shaping wood as if it was clay. I have rapidly moved away from traditional wood turning and like to use a variety of non-traditional wood and different materials that enhance the wood. I like form and shape inspired by nature.

    Working in both realistic and abstract styles, painting transports me to another world where I communicate through colours and shapes. When you look at my oil paintings, I want you to feel the layers of light, emotion, and energy - I'm trying to transform paint into feelings.

    Peter is an international, award-winning, mixed media artist who uses both digital and conventional methods to create his art, including mobile photography (iPhone and iPad), acrylics, cyanotypes and gilding. His work has been displayed at galleries throughout Europe, including Le Petite Galerie in Paris, the MIRA Gallery in Porto & the Bartoli Felter gallery in Cagliari.
