Report this?Inspired by her home county of Yorkshire, Katrina works in a wild and free manner such as the laws of nature demand. The motive behind these stimulating paintings is the exploration of beauty in our surroundings. Taking patterns and colours from flowers, water, earth and sky and using them as stand alone designs or to decorate a variety of creatures, transforming them into hypnotic beings.

Report this?I mostly paint, draw and print. While usually figurative my subjects are rarely quite human. I'm also interested in landscape that bears the oft-troubling traces of human presence. These are dark times. I feel perpetually shocked that we have ended up here. I try to explore this in my work. I committed to making art seriously late in life. Late enough to do it frivolously.

Report this?I’ve been trying to get to the root of why I paint what I paint, after much ruminating I think I’ve realised the different avenues my mind travels down. I’ve become more interested recently in a still life aspect to my work, looking at old toys and discarded objects and it’s the stories about the past, that I can almost see- just out of reach and stories are the main diet of my imagination.
