    A late arrival to the world of Art Textiles. I graduated from De Montfort University in 2003 with a first-class honours degree in Textile Design & Production and spent the following 21 years working in the commercial world of textiles in various guises. My art practice is mixed media, using wool fibres, wool felt, paint, print, stitch and found objects to create one-of-a-kind works of art.

I lived a large part of my life in California working in Economics but I have always maintained my love of art and creating art. My journey now is mostly about making art.     I grew up in the ancient port of Whitby, in northern England which sits between the North Yorkshire Moors and the North Sea. This dramatic environment has influenced my art as much as my multi-ethnic ancestry and popular culture. As do the conflicts within our existence: light and dark; life and death; imprisonment and freedom; censorship and expression.

    Kelly Boyle works with an automatic drawing process, allowing freedom to explore playfully whilst connecting to different levels of emotion and consciousness. Predominantly using ink, acrylics, and pyrography.
