    During total isolation, in lockdown, I painted over a 164 artworks up to date. I also took up meditation which allowed my imagination to flow again. It was cathartic and eased the trauma from what was happening in the outside world. Life is returning back to what was before, but with a greater sense of appreciating family and friends, united.

    As an artist and crafts person most of my adult life in a variety of disciplines, in the past 20 years I have been concentrating on working in two different areas.. CERAMICS creating mosaic pictures using my hand painted ceramic tiles, which are fired before breaking to create the design. and POLYMER CLAY, producing jewellery and recently miniature land and seascapes.

    I am a UK based, mixed media artist working primarily in encaustic. Alongside my art practice, I promote and educate about this 2500 year old technique, determined that this ancient medium experience a resurgence in the UK as it has in the USA. My process involves building up layers of encaustic paint (molten beeswax, tree sap and pigment) on wood, adding fire to fuse (bond) the layers together.

    Following my graduation from a Fine Art Degree in 1993, I qualified as an art teacher, teaching art for over twenty-five years in various settings, including mainstream schools and referral units for children excluded from school.     Lo graduated from the Glasgow School of Art in 2009 with a Ba(Hons) in Fine Art. She has since been writing, drawing and working in Leeds with her cat and number one fan, Moo. She works as an independent Illustrator and is one half of the creative duo, Lo & Vee. Together they run a regular art class and have had success with their large, detailed, painted murals.
