    Born in Nottinghamshire, Stuart Reid completed a Foundation course in Art and Design at Grimsby School of Art. He studied Fine Art at Falmouth School of Art and Birmingham School of Art (Postgraduate Painting). He lives in East London and works in a Space Studio. In 2025, he won the Collectors' Art Prize - Legends of Our Time Award. In 2020, he won best in show for the International Art Folio 2020 Annual award. In 2019, he was shortlisted for the Refresh Art Prize 2019.

    Creative expression has always been intrinsic to my life having worked with pencil, pen and ink, lino cut, oil pastel, watercolour and acrylics. After retiring in 2017 I followed my passion for mid century design restoring and selling sewing boxes internationally. I then returned to mixed media work in 2021.
