    I am a woodcarver, artificer and artisan pictorial sign maker. My sculpture is often for memorials, both for highly personal private remembrance and for Public Spaces. All my work is concerned with sustainability, climate change and environmental responsibility. My work has been exhibited widely in the UK and online. I sculpture in the Public Collection and on permanent display.

    I am a predominantly self taught artist working across a range of textile mediums with a particular focus on weaving currently. I use a range of different size handheld or tabletop looms, mainly working with natural & recycled fibres in combination with found objects that maybe natural or manmade.

    I am an artist and founder of Oriel Cardi Bach, an independent contemporary gallery in Cardigan, West Wales. Alongside supporting artists through the gallery, my own practice focuses on cyanotype, using photography, sunlight and the distinctive blue process to explore the Welsh coastline, landscape, memory and a sense of place.

    I studied fine art (Painting) at Wimbledon School of Art 1970-73 and have continued to make and exhibit work regionally, nationally and internationally.     I’m a colour-blind artist/cartoonist fascinated by the overlooked moments of everyday life. The way people interact with their surroundings, both living and inanimate, in ways that are often unnoticed.     I grew up in the ancient port of Whitby, in northern England which sits between the North Yorkshire Moors and the North Sea. This dramatic environment has influenced my art as much as my multi-ethnic ancestry and popular culture. As do the conflicts within our existence: light and dark; life and death; imprisonment and freedom; censorship and expression.
