    For over twenty years, my practice as a community artist has centred on participation, storytelling, and collective making.     I am a Brighton-based artist with an interest in semiotics, producing concept-driven work with a specialism in slip-cast ceramics.     Graduating in 1987 from Maidstone College of Art, with a Fine Arts BA (hons) degree I entered the world of teaching after gaining a PGCE at Bretton hall. My role as art teacher rapidly developed to head of department, head of faculty, to becoming an AST, and deputy head at a SEND School, Recently I was a teacher of nurture after 2 years of art, photography, teaching before retiring in Dec 2024

    A handweaver and passionate about sustainable textiles, Sarah also has a smallholding and breeds pedigree Border Leicester sheep. She uses the fleece from her own sheep and from other local farms to create bespoke yarn to use in her woven articles.
