    Lauren Dawson is a multidisciplinary visual artist from Northern Ireland, with an environmental focus. Lauren graduated with a BA Hons in Fine and Applied Art from the University of Ulster Belfast in 2008, and a Masters in Cultural Heritage and Museum Studies in 2010, specialising in art curating.

I work in whatever materials I can afford/acquire including digital drawing often incorporating handwritten lettering.     I am a multidisciplinary maker and printmaker creating a personal field record of the landscape. Influenced by old herbals and the graphic language of historical woodcuts, my work captures the wild things of liminal spaces. I merge foraged inspiration with disciplined craft to create leaf-printed leather journals, botanical relief prints, and sculptural accordion artist books.

    I have a passion for watercolour, pastel of wildlife botanical animal and more recently jewellery making . Over 10 years ago I was medically retired from the NHS with a Neurological condition so I picked up a pencil and started from there and have never stopped. I have done a few craft fairs in North Yorkshire where I'm from . I have now moved to Surrey are and I want to continue here with fairs.

    I am a graduate of Reading University and the RCA. Currently I have a studio at APT in Deptford, London. I have exhibited continuously since 1977 both in terms of static installations but more recently involving projection onto objects. These include reconstructions of the night sky and orreries using 00 scale model railways. An online catalogue of small works and movie shorts support this.
