    I am a multidisciplinary maker and printmaker creating a personal field record of the landscape. Influenced by old herbals and the graphic language of historical woodcuts, my work captures the wild things of liminal spaces. I merge foraged inspiration with disciplined craft to create leaf-printed leather journals, botanical relief prints, and sculptural accordion artist books.

    My practice is muti-disciplinary but a unifying starting point for most of my work is print or collage. I am an artist and educator interested in the social applications of art. I like to create work that is playful and invites interaction in some way. Ritual, play, wonder, performance, perceptions of reality and imagined narratives are all important themes within my practice.

    Michel Ducos is a potter, sculptor and Art facilitator based in Alford, Lincolnshire.     Creative expression has always been intrinsic to my life having worked with pencil, pen and ink, lino cut, oil pastel,watercolour and acrylics. After retiring in 2017 I followed my passion for mid century design restoring and selling sewing boxes internationally.I then returned to mixed media work in 2021 focusing on alcohol inks on birch ply to enhance the beauty of the wood grain.
