    I am Olamide Adesola aka Ayo'lamide. I have a masters degree in Fine Art from Teesside University and a BSc degree in Fine Arts from Obafemi Awolowo, Nigeria. I started art as a young girl. I have participated in exhibitions, home & abroad. This was done so as to solidify my intention of achieving an uninterrupted creative/professional practice as a professional artist. I am happily married.

    Working with clay has always been my passion and escape. I graduated with a BEd Hons majoring in art and ceramics and taught for many years. Following early retirement I work in my studio in Hexham, Northumberland where I make small scale ceramic sculpture based on my immediate environment and on my relationships with landscape and within family.

    My practice operates at the intersection of Neo-Expressionism and Pop art, fusing raw street art aesthetics with supernatural iconography and the historic subversion of Polari slang.     Ex Army Father of two beautiful girls and I work as a HGV driver in the UK. I got into art literally by accident, after a work place accident and recovering at home ,I took up pyrography to take my mind off the recovery. Since then and work permitting I do my art when I can. Only having weekends off from the road I love to dive into a piece for hours on end, the smell and sound is fantastic.

    I am a figurative sculptor working in the UK with gallery representation but now branching out into collaborative and site specific work. I use life casting to play along the spectrum of abstraction and figuration, often working in plaster and seeking ways of representing the human form that find beauty in the unusual or rarely appreciated. I also work in bronze both on a large and small scale.
