    I am a teacher of Geography and until a few years ago I never thought I had a creative bone in my body. I then discovered wood turning and the joy of shaping wood as if it was clay. I have rapidly moved away from traditional wood turning and like to use a variety of non-traditional wood and different materials that enhance the wood. I like form and shape inspired by nature.

    I am an artist working in Sheffield painting and sculpting alongside welding, making and restoring to make money. I went to art college in tI mid 80's for an art foundation course and failed it so not really trained but not fully an Outsider. At 60 I was diagnosed with combined Autism and ADHD and discovered an underlying cause for many situations I have been in that have influenced my work

    I’m a queer artist living and working in Colne Valley, West Yorkshire. I typically use oil pastels or wax pastels to create illustrations of natural forms inspired by the landscapes surrounding me.

    Aidan Liggins is a textile artist and workshop facilitator exploring how creativity, traditional knowledge and making with our hands can help us rebuild a relationship with the natural world.     I’m interested in the subtle communication of the environmental impact that humans have on our planet especially animals and water. Eg. Octopus Using everyday materials ‘found objects’ mixing them with other materials I plan to sculpt ‘The energetic quality of Water’ I trust that if my attention is on a ‘matter ‘the matter energetically changes.

    Though rooted in printmaking, my MA in Fine Art (UAL) encouraged me to expand my practice to include installation and assemblage. I use a range of media including traditional (e.g. print, ceramics) and newer technologies (e.g. laser cut) which I combine to stretch possibilities. My work reflects the range of human experience, with dementia and the working poor among my subjects.

    I have been painting and exhibiting since 1998 and spent 12 years in Vietnam where I owned a gallery. I am so happy to be back in my native Yorkshire. My recent watercolour and acrylic works concern themes such as Origins, Belonging and the Joy of Life. I believe in the honesty of art and follow where my inspirations lead me. Inspirations include Hundertwasser, Doig, Hurvin Anderson and Hockney.
