    I am a UK based, mixed media artist working primarily in encaustic. Alongside my art practice, I promote and educate about this 2500 year old technique, determined that this ancient medium experience a resurgence in the UK as it has in the USA. My process involves building up layers of encaustic paint (molten beeswax, tree sap and pigment) on wood, adding fire to fuse (bond) the layers together.

    After an initial career as a Systems Analyst, I studied Visual Arts (Salford University), 2004, then an M.A. in Textiles/Fashion (Manchester Metropolitan University) 2005. My studio is at Rogue Artists’ Studios CIC, Manchester. I am a member of the artist collective , A Small Space. My project ‘We View Things Differently Now' was ACE DYCP funded in 2021. My work has been exhibited widely.

    I am a tapestry artist, weaver and textile designer based in creative studios in Newcastle upon Tyne. My background is as a professional artist before evolving into textiles. I like to use my colour knowledge with fibre creating unique items for people and their homes - such as framed tapestry art, rug making, woven cushions/bags etc.

    My work is like a theatre. I’ve been an actor and I take the theatre into my work . I tell stories ; It can be a personal one , someone else story , or I simply invent a new story. It’s about people and places , dreams and hopes , love and hate , human perceptions , like and dislikes and so on .

    I am a multidisciplinary artist with an MA Fine Art from Goldsmiths College. I am interested in the juncture between art, medicine, and forensics, informed by my experience as a former medic.     I am a London based artist who uses photography, digital manipulation, and sound to create images, video, and installations. Searching beneath the surface by unpacking the layers that we keep secure is a fundamental aspect of my work. Often nostalgic, sometimes beautifully melancholic, I make tender unsettling images drawn from my reflections of human behaviour.

    I am a textile artist using machine embroidery as my main medium. I work in my studio in Sheffield called 'Stitched Up and Fleeced'. I trained at Bolton Art College Foundation Course 1971-2 , Loughborough College of Art and Design Degree in Stitched Textiles 1975, PGCE Art and Design at Leicester 1976, Member of the Society of Designer Craftsmen since 1996 and awarded a Fellowship in 2013.
