    Nicola Briggs is an Artist & Ceramicist based in Manchester, UK. She completed a BA(Hons) Design: Ceramics Arts Degree from Staffordshire University in 1998 and set up her first studio with the help of The Princes Trust. During this time Nicola also painted and sold work at galleries. After a break to raise her family, Nicola returned to making and exhibiting in 2016 building a new garden studio.

    I am a visual artist, born in Scotland and living in the Scottish Borders. My background in craft and fine art is wide and varied. I first trained in ceramics and then studied fine art sculpture and printmaking, at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art in Dundee, from which I graduated BA Hons in 1992.     I am currently a MA student studying Illustration at Cambridge School of Art. Previously, I studied Ceramics and craft Art at Sichuan Fine Arts Institute in China. My work spans sculpture, installation, painting, and illustration. My creative themes mostly revolve around existentialism, the unnoticed cracks in everyday life, and the subtle emotions evoked in humans.
