I'm a video & sound artist & writer living and working in rural Shrewsbury. My creative practice explores my relationship to the spaces & landscapes I call home. I'm interested in the ways I share these spaces with those around me especially those who aren’t often seen. My work is inspired by the natural world and ancient stories connected to the land and the plants and animals that reside there.

I am an artist with a practice combining studio arts and microactivism. My work investigates how people maintain their notions-of-self through visual cues. My projects are an expression of Afropresentism, combining my cultural influences. My work acknowledges the past-present-future, in joyous response to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. 's: prompt Where Do We Go from Here: Chaos or Community

I am an artist and musician, sometimes combining both by playing soundscapes on the hammer dulcimer and hurdy gurdy within a gallery exhibition. I am currently working with Stroke Clubs to create digital banners of their work with me in workshops. I recently recovered from losing the use of my left arm and hand by creating paintings and music with the left hand.

Holman works with traditional making practices and processes, that he subverts with contemporary content, challenging both the currency of craft as a nostalgic strategy for making, and our perceptions of what constitutes ‘heritage.’ Holman is a non executive director of The National Festival of Making and is artist in residence for the British Textiles Biennial 2019.
