    In 2016 I made a commitment to focus on my own practice and fulfill a career long ambition to specialise in ceramics. I completed an MA in Ceramics: Design at Manchester School of Art last year. In 2019 I will be exhibiting at Ceramic Wales (July) and The Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair, Manchester (October).

    I am a photographer from a Fine Art background. My career has been in Advertising producing work for Ad Agencies and design companies. However throughout that time I have always balanced the commissioned work with my own personal practice which ranges from Landscape, Industrial and still life work. I am now retired from the commercial arena so I can now concentrate on my personal work.

    I am a multi-disciplinary artist, with 15 years of experience of socially engaged art / social practices projects. My work is informed by my Ph.D. thesis, activism and personal experience as a mix race person and migrant.     Jenny Beard (b. 1994) is a Leeds-based artist from Barnsley whose abstract, textural paintings explore digital aesthetics, dissociation, and working-class identity. Influenced by Action painting, Meta-painting and Postdigital art, she works mainly with oil, acrylic, and mixed media on canvas.

    I started out in art creating pencil pet portraits for friends and family. When these proved popular, I branched out and began experimenting with a variety of media, and a variety of subjects. I am always learning, and thoroughly enjoying the process. I decided to take the plunge and set up a website for my art earlier in 2025.

    Creative expression has always been intrinsic to my life having worked with pencil, pen and ink, lino cut, oil pastel,watercolour and acrylics. After retiring in 2017 I followed my passion for mid century design restoring and selling sewing boxes internationally.I then returned to mixed media work in 2021 focusing on alcohol inks on birch ply to enhance the beauty of the wood grain.
