    Based in Sheffield, England I have been a professional artist since graduating in Fine Art at Sheffield Hallam University in 1998. I have worked in various artist studios around Yorkshire and worked on a diverse range of projects from commissions to specialist art workshops. Throughout college and university painting has always been the driving force behind my work.

    As a woman in my middle years, my art practice is all about exploring the natural cycles of the seasons and how they connect to the phases of womanhood—growth, change, and renewal. Balancing motherhood with creativity over the years has given me a unique perspective, helping me appreciate the quiet strength and resilience found in these cycles, much like the transitions we experience as women.

    I make paintings about what it is to be human and our dis-connection from the natural world. I am inspired by Adam and Eve and how paradise lives in our psyche as both a longing for home or mythical place. My work as a psychotherapist is mirrored in the psychodrama of the work, the painted surface and imagery reflecting our fractures, flaws, both psychological/physical, and our wish for love.

    Since completing my Photography MA (Falmouth) in autumn 2019, I have been working hard to establish myself as a visual artist in the digital field. Alongside this I have been a support to my elderly parents and cared for children of key workers in my family during the pandemic . I primarily create intricate, digitally painted composites, as a method of contemporary nostalgic storytelling.
